Web 2.0 refers to a new generation of web applications designed to support collaboration and the sharing of user-generated content. For example, a user might use Facebook to manage their photos and personal contacts, a networking site such as LinkedIn to manage professional contacts and various project Wiki sites to manage and share information about publications and presentations.
